Finally feel seen, heard and understood.
In my work with couples who are struggling with all sorts of life-stressors, I have found the most effective approach to be one that is warm, collaborative and process-oriented; where both client(s) feels seen, heard and understood.
One of the most common questions I get is, “how do you work”? Studies show that one of the most important ingredients in therapy is the connection and relationship between therapist and client. I agree with this wholeheartedly and work from that perspective. In my work, I weave together many theories and approaches to best meet the needs of my clients. I use Attachment, Family-Systems, Emotionally-Focused, Feminist, Relational and Psychodynamic theories.
Folks show up for therapy because they are struggling with something (or many things) or may be in a crisis and realize they need extra support to sort those things out and to heal. Because I understand that people want symptom-relief and they want to feel like themselves again, I work with folks to look at, unpack, better manage/cope with and build tools to deal with the things they’re struggling with now. Additionally, I believe we are all the sum of our experiences up until this moment and true healing comes from looking more deeply at who we are and where we come from. So together we sort through and unpack the past and the present to achieve a more integrated and whole sense of self.
I work closely with couples on old patterns and dynamics, communication, vulnerability, intimacy, boundaries and connection.
